Especially for small retail businesses, for transactions up to €20, the transaction fee is 0.5% of the transaction value.

This special pricing applies to transactions made with consumer cards (debit, credit, and prepaid cards) issued in Greece, for as long as the relevant provisions of Laws 5167/2024 and 5108/2024 remain in force.

The special pricing does not apply to:

• Businesses with the legal form of a Société Anonyme (S.A.), and
• Businesses operating more than three (3) card acceptance terminals provided by the same payment service provider.

More specifically, the low‑fee pricing applies to businesses falling under the following Merchant Category Codes (MCCs):

• MCC 5411: Grocery stores & minimarkets
• MCC 5994: Newsagents & kiosks
• MCC 5192: Books, magazines, newspapers
• MCC 5993: Tobacco shops & smokers’ supplies
• MCC 5462: Bakeries
• MCC 4121: Taxi services
• MCC 5441: Nut and confectionery stores
• MCC 5451: Dairy product stores
• MCC 7216: Dry cleaners
• MCC 7251: Shoe repair shops
• MCC 5697: Tailoring, clothing repairs & alterations
• MCC 5949: Sewing, knitting, fabric and haberdashery stores
• MCC 5499: Miscellaneous food stores, convenience stores, specialty shops
• MCC 5399: Miscellaneous general merchandise stores
• MCC 5331: Variety stores (convenience goods)

If the law is no longer in force or if the business does not meet the eligibility criteria set out by the law, then the pricing agreed in the merchant’s contract shall apply.
